When you reach the top of the Fanatics' Tower, you don't actually have to take the Gem Box in order to fight MagiMaster. Just stand in front of the chest and then head outside, and you will be surrounded by cultists telling you to return the treasure even though you haven't stolen it. This patch ensures that they will not surround you unless you actually steal it.
